We talked to even more friendly people and ended up staying there for a few hours. IPA! After dinner we went and enjoyed the "Conversation Pool" which is a giant hot tub. The waitress even trekked over to the "Streakers" bar to get me a delicious Dogfish Head 60min. We had a great meal of sandwiches and salads that was very tasty and satisfying. But here at Sunny Rest, it just meant that the specific "Dinner" items on the menu were not available. At other (traditional) resorts we have been to this would mean that, basically, you are just "out of luck" as far a food is concerned. We ended up set up but missed the timing for dinner in the restaurant. This was basically the theme for the entire weekend.VERY friendly, helpful people everywhere who are willing to go out of the way to help and make you feel welcome. When we moved the car and started setting up another couple folks came over, set their lantern up in a tree so that we would have better light to set up and helped us get set. Well, as we were wandering about, trying to figure out a spot a group of folks came over to us and pointed out a great site near them, with a picnic table and fire ring and a nearby place to park when setting up. I basically drove around lost for 20 min or so looking for the tenting areas, and we eventually just stopped the car near a bunch of tents to see if we could find a spot to put up camp. Frankly it was a bit confusing as it was starting to rain and it was after dark and there are no defined "campsites" for tent campers. Well, due to traffic and a late start we did not get there until around 8:00pm, at which point we were pleasantly checked in and given a resort map and a general idea where we could set up. I explained that we were coming after work on Friday and they said it was no issue, the office is open until 11:00pm. I called the resort and they confirmed that no reservation was required for tenting, that we should just show up. As we are avid campers, we decided to tent camp for the weekend. Last weekend we decided to make the short trip from the Philly area up to Sunny Rest to see how we would like it. My wife and I have been enjoying Au Natural sunning and swimming for a few years at Gunnison Beach and have been wanting to try a nude resort for some time.
